Mothership Strategies is looking for a Deputy Director of Digital Advertising to help lead our growing ads team as it raises the bar for progressive electoral and advocacy campaigns across the country.

You’re the kind of person who:

  • Has intricate knowledge of online advertising platforms (Adwords, DoubleClick, DCM, Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, 3rd party data onboarding systems etc.) and how they are applied to political programs
  • Has a proven track record developing solid paid digital strategies and media plans
  • Has a knack for creative and expanding the boundaries of online advertising
  • Feels at ease managing a team of strategists and creatives
  • Has experience building lasting client relationships and communicating the value of digital advertising
  • Is ready to take on big challenges and build the progressive movement

What makes you a great fit for this role:

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 2+ cycles of political advertising experience or comparable experience
  • Proven experience managing a team
  • You know the ins and outs of digital advertising and digital media planning
  • You’re creative with the tools at your disposal and love thinking outside the box
  • You understand the intricacies of ad operations and the technical aspects of digital advertising
  • You know great ad copy and concepts when you see them — and how to manage a team that can produce it
  • You enjoy finding ways to continually develop your skills and build the skillsets of your team

In this job you will:

  • Lead the creation and execution of persuasion, education, mobilization and acquisition programs for our clients
  • Manage and oversee daily operations of the ads team, from creative and strategy to technical and operations experts
  • Supervise the ads process from concept generation through execution
  • Oversee the optimization of our campaigns to achieve client goals, from maximizing fundraising ROI, to persuading and turning out voters, to engaging activists
  • Work with designers, campaigns and consultants to develop compelling creative
  • Optimize processes across the ads team to foster collaboration and help drive an aggressive ads program
  • Create reporting timelines and metrics to give real time feedback on campaign performance
  • Interact with clients to move programs forward
  • Support the Director of Advertising in growing team capabilities and scope
